Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island

The resort sits on Hon Tre island along about two kilometres of private beach. It is among the largest here: 403 rooms and suites plus 426 villas of two, three and four bedrooms. Bookable for a large group or several families together, which a city hotel struggles to do.

Four restaurants and bars, seven pools, two tennis courts, a fitness centre, Quan Spa with twelve treatment rooms, and a kids' club with a playground. Seven pools is a number that matters with a large party: nobody competes for a lounger, and children get their own water.

The island is the real constraint. Getting ashore means the cable car or a boat, so dinner off the resort is a decision rather than a whim, the same as Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang Bay, also on this island. In exchange the beach is genuinely private, with no hawkers.

Worth noting for a frequent traveller: Marriott Bonvoy points earn and redeem here, and among the Marriott properties in Khanh Hoa this is the island one, while JW Marriott Cam Ranh Bay is on the mainland at Bai Dai. Two very different propositions on transport.

One thing about the name, because it still trips people up when booking: this is the former Vinpearl Sealink Nha Trang. Sometimes written Vinpearl Discovery Sealink. It became Nha Trang Marriott Resort & Spa, Hon Tre Island on 29 September 2023. If you search under the old name and find rates or reviews from before then, remember they describe a product that has since been reworked.
