Overview
Mineral mud bathing is as much a Nha Trang thing as the beach itself, and Thap Ba is the oldest of them. Also the cheapest of the five main venues. Tickets are 120,000₫ for adults and 60,000₫ for children between 1 m and 1.4 m tall.
The basic sequence: soak in mineral mud, rinse off, then soak in hot mineral water. Being the oldest, the facilities aren't as new as I-Resort's or Galina's. You're paying for the experience, not the fittings. If you just want to try mud bathing once to see what it is, this is the sensible price.
The routine is much the same everywhere, so learning it once is enough: soak in the mineral mud for fifteen to twenty minutes, rinse off, sit in the hot mineral water, then rest. Bring swimwear, a change of clothes and easy sandals. The mud ruins light fabric, and do not overstay the soak, because longer is not better.
Nha Trang has five main mud-bath complexes and they differ plainly: Thap Ba is the cheapest and the oldest, I-Resort has the most packages, Tram Trung is the largest, Galina is central and the dearest, and Hon Tam is the only one where you soak looking at the bay. Choose by what you are short of: money means Thap Ba, time means Galina, a big group means Tram Trung.
The other mud baths: I-Resort, Trăm Trứng, Galina and Hòn Tằm. For massage alone, see the spa page.
