Overview
La Vague is a four-star at 08 Tran Phu in Vinh Nguyen. The southern end of the coastal road. This stretch is far quieter than the middle, and it carries one concrete advantage: Cau Da port, where every island boat leaves around eight, is close by.
The room grades sort cleanly by aspect: Deluxe city view, Deluxe ocean view, Senior Deluxe ocean view, Premier ocean view, Family Connecting ocean view, and the La Vague Suite with a jacuzzi. The connecting family rooms are worth noting if you travel with older children. Not every hotel of this class offers them.
The same cluster holds the Oceanographic Institute at 1 Cau Da. On a rough day when island tours are cancelled, that is an indoor option within walking distance: tickets 10,000–40,000₫, and the morning is not wasted.
The trade is dinner: the backpacker quarter and the restaurants around Dam market are four or five kilometres off, so eating in town means a ride.
Watch out
Do not confuse this with Comodo at 86A on the same road. Two different hotels, a fair distance apart along the same street.
