Overview

Alibu sits at 14 Duong De, just off Pham Van Dong on the northern side of Nha Trang: a hillside above the bay, under eight kilometres from the centre. That distance is the point. Near enough that dinner in town is a short ride, far enough that you cannot hear the town.

There are 105 rooms and villas, and private beach access. That last is something no Tran Phu hotel can offer, because the sand there is public and shared with the whole city.

The food and drink side is unusually thick for the size: The Sea restaurant, the Opal Pool Bar, the Alibu Brewery and a wine cellar called The Cave, plus a spa. An on-site brewery is rare in Khanh Hoa, and it answers the standing problem of any property outside town: what to do in the evening.

The trade: much closer than Bai Dai, but still not a place you walk out of to eat. If the trip revolves around street food, the night market and joined tours, the centre suits better. If you want a pool, private sand and quiet evenings while keeping the city fifteen minutes away, this is the tidiest compromise on offer.

Other places to stay in the Phạm Văn Đồng shore: Boma Resort Nha Trang, La Mer Hotel, Ibala Hotel & Spa. Nearby: Hòn Chồng and the north-shore cafés.

Strong points

  • 105 rooms and villas on a hillside above the bay
  • Private beach access, which no Tran Phu hotel has
  • The Alibu Brewery and The Cave wine cellar on site
  • Under 8 km from the centre

Practical tips

  • Far closer than Bai Dai, but town is still a ride away
  • With a brewery and wine cellar on site, evenings need not leave the property
  • It is a hillside site. Ask about paths and gradients if you travel with older relatives

Frequently asked

How far is the centre?

Under eight kilometres, about fifteen minutes by car. Much closer than the Bai Dai resorts, but still a ride rather than a walk.

Is there a private beach?

There is private beach access. That is the main difference from a Tran Phu hotel, where the beach is public.

What is there in the evening?

The Sea restaurant, the Opal Pool Bar, the Alibu Brewery and The Cave wine cellar. Enough that you need not drive into town every night.
