Overview
Hyatt Regency at 44 Tran Phu is the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Nha Trang. It holds 434 rooms and suites, and what they share is floor-to-ceiling glass and a private balcony, so even the entry category gives you somewhere to stand outside, which several towers on the same strip do not.
Which way the room faces is the thing worth pinning down when you book. The building looks both ways: the bay and Hon Tre on one side, the city and the hills behind it on the other. At the same square metres, the price and the stay differ by one word in the room name. Read it before paying rather than at the door.
The centrepiece is an infinity pool over the bay, alongside the Market Café restaurant and a pool bar. This is a city hotel rather than a self-contained resort: there is no private beach, but the whole seafront is outside the door and most of a trip needs no vehicle.
The address puts you mid-strip: the beach in front, the inland restaurants and the island-tour desks all walkable. The trade is that beach itself. Public, busy at weekends and worked by hawkers, unlike the private sand of a Bai Dai resort.
Other places to stay in the Trần Phú strip: Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa, Red Sun Nha Trang Hotel, An Vista Hotel Nha Trang. Trần Phú beach is across the road, and the cafés around here are on the tourist-quarter page.
Strong points
- 434 rooms and suites, every one with a private balcony
- An infinity pool looking over Nha Trang bay
- Mid-strip on Tran Phu: beach and restaurants on foot
Practical tips
- Confirm bay-facing or city-facing when you book, same size, different price
- The beach out front is public, not the hotel's own
- This is a city tower, not a self-contained resort
Frequently asked
Does every room have a balcony?
By the hotel's own description, yes: all 434 rooms and suites have floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony, facing either the bay or the city.
Is there a private beach?
No. The beach in front is the public Tran Phu strand. A private beach means the islands or Bai Dai.
Do I need transport?
Not for most of a trip. This is mid-strip, so the beach, the restaurants and the tour desks are all walkable.
