Grand Tourane is at 23 Hung Vuong, the same street as Libra at number 14: in the backpacker quarter rather than on the seafront. Four stars, 162 rooms, a 28 m² Deluxe at the bottom and a 189 m² Presidential Suite at the top.

What separates it from the rest of the quarter sits on the top two floors: an outdoor sky bar on 21 and an infinity pool with a 360-degree view over the city. It is how a hotel without a seafront address buys the view back. Not from the room, but from the twenty-first floor.

Inside there are the Monstera and Âu Á restaurants, both on the second floor, plus a spa and a gym. In practice you use them less than you might: step outside and there are restaurants, island-tour desks and motorbike hire, which is the reason to stay on Hung Vuong at all.

Do this first

The trade, as always here, is noise: Hung Vuong and the streets around it run late, being where the eating and drinking happens. If you sleep lightly, ask for a high floor away from the street when you book, not at check-in.
